Increase average transaction size: If you sell men's clothing for example, I should be able to get varieties of men's clothing from you. Increase your product line to increase the size of transactions a customer can have with you. If you run a restaurant don't just serve food, serve other things that will make your customers spend more.
Increase frequency of transactions per customer: Increase how often a customer visits you. Spend more time and resources on customers that can pay and constantly do a follow up to ensure you remain in their minds. Keep yourself very visible to them.
Raise your price: Do not be afraid to raise your price. Except you run a charity organization that should be the only reason your prices should be very low. If you raise your price and do not compromise on your quality people will pay. I have tried this principle and people have paid higher than they paid the previous time as long as your quality is top notch.
Your business will survive if you will invest in marketing. You do not spend money on marketing you invest in marketing. Your adverts should lead to closure except you are big company already and you just want to be visible. Any adverts you spend money on should generate more sales.
